In 1969 women were foregoing dresses more and more and the pant suit was to become a major trend through the seventies. Of course these trends tended to trickle down from Haute Couture and it was Ateliers Like Dior that were doing it best. Bohan's 1969 Collections had a mix of a gypsy theme and sleek pantsuits.In the video below you will see this outfit in the very first few opening seconds on the left - you even see the scarf snap jauntily in the wind! The twin of this piece also resides as part of The Met's collection and . We also found a clipping from a magazine featuring the outfit (both pictured below). So the piece is not only Haute Couture but is very well documented.

Made of a heavy silk dyed to the perfect soft mint green, this three piece set from the is just divine. The pants are cut slim and with a straight line and a sharp crease that gives them that lovely shape. The tunic is wonderful and done in a boxed cut that falls in a slim and straight line. It ends about mid thigh and would completely work as a mini if you dared. I love the tightly spaced row of buttons down one hip - it's the only embellishment on the piece. It anchors the bottom panel that is hand sewn into place and top stitched for a subtle detailing. The sleeves and neckline are kept simple. It has its original ling scarf that you can flip around the neck. At each end of the scarf is a 6 inch finish of flat braided silk cord fringing. Exquisite and a piece of history! Numbered Haute Couture. Presents as excellent condition when worn as an ensemble.

The tunic is fully lined in a silk satin through the body and the sleeves are lined in a very fine and light silk chiffon. The pants are unlined. Being Haute Couture it is entirely made by hand. Both the tunic and pants close with back, hand set, painted metal zippers. The pants have a slight fade line down the top of one thigh - this appears to be from improper storage in strong sunlight. When worn with the tunic it is completely covered. There is one button missing from the tunic at the side. It has been priced to reflect this but again, when one it is not apparent.
